CFVI awarded a grant to My Brother’s Workshop (MBW), with funding from the Popular VI Community Fund, to conduct a 12-week vocational training program for five students ages 16-24 years old. The program focused on various areas like woodworking, construction, culinary arts, customer service, and landscaping. With guidance from three trainers, a volunteer, and a licensed social worker, the students progressed significantly in skill levels, completing projects like building picnic tables and baking. Volunteer contributions included 120 hours from a volunteer trainer, 720 from paid trainers, social workers logged 60, and 12 hours from High Point Church for landscaping. The program emphasized professionalism, with personalized support improving punctuality for some participants. MBW will continue to help young people accomplish their dreams, goals, and have a stable home environment.
