(U.S. Virgin Islands) – The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) announces the launch of a new information-collection campaign: Leveraging USVI Facts & Figures to Build Forward. The purpose of this initiative is to establish a shared knowledge source, adding to the informational assets of the USVI by compiling needs assessments, research reports, and strategic plans from a variety of sources (e.g., government, corporate, organizational) related to the US Virgin Islands, with a focus on findings since the 2017 hurricanes.

CFVI is calling for agencies and organizations to voluntarily share any community assessments, research reports, work plans, or other documents relevant to understanding community needs/challenges/strengths/opportunities just before and/or after the 2017 hurricanes. Reports can be submitted in any digital format via the Google Form link provided below. Submitted reports will be compiled and made publicly available online.

The purpose of this shared knowledge initiative is to enable USVI leaders, decision makers, and organizations serving the community to learn from each other and to build their own agendas with recognition of and to complement existing efforts. “We believe that recovery and development resources in the USVI can be strengthened by sharing important and related findings and assessments within the community,” states CFVI President Dee Baecher-Brown. “What we’re hoping to do is to make it easier for folks to know what’s already been done, to not reinvent the wheel, and to ultimately promote increased synergy among those working together to build forward for the benefit of the Territory.”

To be included in the initial release, interested agencies should upload information and documents via cfvi.co/LeveragingUSVIFacts by February 28, 2019.
