Ways You Can Support USVI Hurricane Relief Efforts Through CFVI

Hurricanes Irma and Maria ripped through the U.S. Virgin Islands, leaving a devastating mark on the landscape, infrastructure, and residents of the Territory. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, CFVI has a longstanding history of serving the Virgin Islands community and has been identified as a trusted vehicle for receiving and distributing funds to support renewal across the Territory. CFVI Funds and Grants for USVI Hurricane Relief and Recovery

CFVI Funds

CFVI Friends and Family Fund for USVI Renewal

Purpose: to accommodate donations from CFVI’s family, friends, existing Fund donors, Angels and other partners. This fund will be directed by CFVI’s Board of Directors and will focus on immediate grass-roots needs in the community and support for long-term solutions in some of the Foundation’s main areas of focus. (i.e., early childhood, youth development, volunteerism, the elderly, emergency needs of families, etc.).

FUND FOR THE VIRGIN ISLANDS
Purpose: to provide monies for critical needs in the U.S. Virgin Islands, both to support short-term relief efforts and to enhance the well-being of future generations. Strategic planning for these efforts will be coordinated with input from local government, national experts, and trusted local nonprofits.

Driehaus Challenge Grant
Richard H. Driehaus, a long-time USVI supporter, is offering a challenge grant of $250,000 to assist with the recovery and renewal of the Virgin Islands after hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Fiscal Sponsorships

Amalie Global Relief Fund
Purpose: to provide monies to support recovery and relief, including: transportation and shipping of building supplies, tools, equipment, fuel, containers, food, water, hygiene products, medical supplies, and other critical supplies to USVI by air or by boat; procurement of building supplies, tools, equipment, fuel, containers, food, water, hygiene products, medical supplies, and other critical supplies; evacuation of families and individuals from the USVI to neighboring Islands or U.S.; temporary housing and transportation for displaced families and Individuals; establishment of staging/relief area on Hassel Island for evacuation of families and Individuals; medical assistance.
