CFVI awarded a grant to Good Hope Country Day School, with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities, to build an extensive resource library for students, faculty and staff and to provide cultural field trips and lessons to students. This included a variety of diversity and cultural books for all age groups, books and teaching resources for faculty and staff, steel pan introduction classes, and cultural exploration opportunities for students including guest speakers to present VI history and culture as well as guided tours and field trips. A grant highlight was the Caribbean Topics class where students were taught the origins, history, and techniques to making the traditional pound seasoning or “Crucian seasoning salt.”
