CFVI awarded a grant to the Nana Baby Children's Home, with funding from the Popular VI Community Fund, to install a Therapeutic Garden for 15 children. Through hard work the children successfully planted 15 fruit trees, built garden beds, established a herb garden for daily use, and constructed a chicken coop. This project not only supported skill development in gardening and sustainable living, but also fostered the children’s emotional wellbeing and social skills. A memorable moment from this engaging experience is the children’s smiles and bright faces as they picked from the garden to make their favorite fresh pasta sauce. Children ages 1 to 17 will benefit from the garden throughout the year and it will continue to serve dozens of children living at the home in the future. This grant was the kickstart to providing long-term educational, emotional, and sustainable living benefits.
