CFVI awarded a grant to the United Jazz Foundation, with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), to support the Caribbean Music Institute Online for junior high, high school, and college students. The program used music literacy to enhance students' life skills, social intellect, music writing & notation skills, and self-determination and expanded their knowledge of musical cultural history to preserve & sustain the heritage of the US Virgin Islands. Courses included music technology classes, workshops, ensembles, private instruction, and recording sessions utilizing the enormously rich palette of the fundamental abilities that music education gives access to.
