Beth Nuttal Interviewed on WTJX Analyze This

Guest Host Dwayne Henry interviewed Beth Nuttal, Director of Grants and Programs at the Community Foundation of the Virgin lslands on the WTJX radio show Analyze This with Neville James on August 28th. She discussed CFVI’s scholarship programs, humanities initiatives, and recent grant awards supporting cultural preservation and education throughout the territory. She explained that cultural and historical preservation are major priorities of the Humanities Council of the Virgin Islands which is administered through CFVI. Over the years they’ve funded a variety of projects from documentaries to plays to educational programming to historical reenactments. Edney Freeman, artist, sculptor, and former Virgin Islands Teacher of the Year, was also a guest on the program and a recipient of CFVI funding this year. He shared details about his humanities-funded project, Checkmate to History, which uses a culturally themed chess set to teach Virgin Islands history through art, storytelling, and interactive community engagement while preserving the legacy of key historical figures and traditions.
